Cocktail of the Week: New York Sour

Stamford Nub News has joined forces with a regular reader to share a 'Cocktail of the Week' feature.
Happy weekend Rutland - Josh here!
This week's cocktail is the New York Sour. Ironically though, cocktail experts think that it was first made in Chicago.
It first appeared in the 19th century and was named as one of America's great cocktail inventions. This forgotten cocktail uses an odd combination of bourbon and red wine, but is surprisingly fresh and classy. Trust me on this one...
The ingredients are as follows.
- 50ml whisky or bourbon
- 25ml lemon juice
- 15ml of sugar syrup
- 1 egg white
- Red wine
Method:
- Add all ingredients bar red wine to a shaker, shake without ice this builds a better foam.
- Then shake with ice to chill.
- Strain and serve.
- Top with red wine floating on top.
Cheers and enjoy!
Check back next week for another Cocktail of the Week, shared each Friday to get the party started.
