Boots, which has shops in Stamford, Grantham, Oakham and other Nub towns, has announced plans to close 200 stores.
Sebastian James, Managing Director of Boots UK, Sebastian James said that stores would close within the next 18 months.
However, the pharmacy and health and beauty chain was unable to say which stores would be closing.
This comes after the retailer announced "strong retail sales" and "market share growth".
A spokesperson for the group added: "Boots has delivered another strong quarter with retail sales growth of 13.4% for the three months ended 31 May 2023. This is the ninth consecutive quarter of market share growth with gains across all categories, led by beauty.
"More customers are shopping at Boots more often, with the number of transactions up both in store and online, with footfall growth ahead of the wider retail market."
However, this will not stop the retailer from closing stores where there are others in close proximity.
Mr James added: "There's no doubt that trading conditions are tough on the High Street and healthcare and retail are facing a challenging reality. Boots is not immune to these pressures, however we have a remarkable brand and I am continually amazed by the extraordinary deep love and respect people have for Boots.
"We're still a very successful company with a phenomenal presence in the UK but we need to take some tough decisions to transform the fundamentals of our business, building on our 170-year legacy, to ensure our future growth."
The question remains, will Stamford's Boots be safe in this latest high street cull?
