Landlines in the UK are going digital, and Stamford residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the change in a series of upcoming drop in sessions.
BT recently announced plans to roll out its new home phone service, Digital Voice, on a region-by-region basis, starting with the East Midlands.
Throughout July, BT will be heading to towns and cities across the region to host a range of events where they'll have a team on hand who can tell you what Digital Voice is, why the change is necessary and what it means for you.
Customers will be able to have one-to-one conversations with BT staff and are encouraged to come along. No need to pre-book, just turn up.
A spokesperson for BT said: "Although the landline isn't going away, we know that you might have questions or would like to know more about this industry-wide change.
"Throughout July, we'll be heading to towns and cities across the East Midlands where we'll have a team on hand who can tell you what Digital Voice is, why the change is necessary and what it means for you."
Locally, BT are holding drop in sessions on 27 July between 10am and 5pm at Stamford Library, High Street, Stamford, Lincolnshire, PE9 2BB.
Prior to the change, customers will be contacted at least four weeks in advance before making the switch, to ensure they are ready to move to Digital Voice.
For almost all customers, Digital Voice will have no impact on how they use their home phone. They'll still have the same service, and price plan and bills will stay the same. In addition, more than 99% of phone handsets work with Digital Voice and for those that won't, BT has a range of handsets that customers can order.
