A new play area at Stamford's Burghley House opened on Saturday 29 April.

The team at Burghley House celebrated the success of their brand new play area as they announced, at 10am on the day of opening, that admission to the new attraction was sold out.

Families travelled from far and wide to experience the new attraction, with excited users on social media saying that the attraction was 'magical'.

The new attraction, Hide & Secrets, remembers William Cecil, the 1st Baron of Burghley.

William Cecil was an English statesman, the chief adviser of Queen Elizabeth I for most of her reign, twice Secretary of State and Lord High Treasurer from 1572.

The team at Burghley have worked closely with world-class playground designers, CAP.Co Adventure Play, to create a wonderfully imaginative design, packed with playability which is sure to delight and excite children of all ages, while paying ode to this remarkable historic figure.
