Investigation works to start in South Fen Road
In the first phase of an upgrade for South Fen Road, Bourne, investigation works will be beginning on Monday 13 March.
Stamford residents are being made aware of disruption taking place from 13 to 17 March in neighbouring Bourne.
The work is to find the exact location and depths of underground utility services at the location. This will be the first phase of a programme which will lead to a LCC resurfacing scheme in the area.
Cllr Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: "These works are the first on-site phase that are necessary on roads like this so that we can plan and design the best way to improve the road surface.
"Unfortunately, it isn't possible to carry out these investigations without some level of disruption with works of this nature. Ultimately, these works lead to better roads for the residents and businesses in the area and I would like to thank everyone for their patience whilst the investigation is underway."
The work will begin on Monday March 13 and is due to end on Friday March 17. The work will be carried out from 07.30 to 17.00 each day. It is worth noting that the end date may be moved due to unforeseen circumstances.
The road will be closed from a point 300m east of its junction with Cherry Holt Road to a point approx 1000m from its junction with Cherry Holt Road.
The diversion route will be along the attached map. This will be on the A151 Cherry Holt Road and Spalding Road to Pode Hole via Twenty and Pinchbeck West, the Delph and Counter Drain Drove to Tongue End, South Fen Road and vice versa.
The works will happen at South Fen Road, Bourne. Access/ Egress to be given to businesses and residents within the working area via the official Diversion Route. Disruption will be kept to a minimum where possible.
