This weekend, Saturday 21 January 2023, the MP for Stamford, Grantham and Bourne has celebrated the installation of an outdoor gym at Stamford Recreation Ground.

MP Gareth Davies, along with Conservative Councillor Gloria Johnson of South Kesteven District Council (SKDC), attended the new outdoor gym to celebrate the addition of the free outdoor wellness facility.

The gym, which initially opened in December 2022, has been officially named 'Frank Newbon's Outdoor Gym'.

The project was co-ordinated by Stewart Jackson, and was officially opened in December by the sons of Mr Jackson, William and Yevgeny.

Gareth Davies said: "It was a pleasure to join Cllr Gloria Johnson at the new outdoor gym at the Stamford Recreation Ground, something she and a number of local people worked very hard to make happen. 

"The gym equipment, which cost more than £40,000, was funded by donations, collections and grants - providing people with a fantastic space to exercise in the fresh air!"
