A Stamford-based dog rescue centre are looking for fosterers.
Mutts Nutts Rescue is a local dog rescue focussed on helping those animals who fared least well in mainstream rescue, mainly those who found themselves without a home later in their lives.
The team support dogs and their owners when they become to old to care for the dogs or suffer other life changes that make care unfeasible.
The Mutts Nutts Rescue started life in 2010 as three friends wanting to make a difference in rescue – two of which, Terry and Jane, act as Trustees.
The team are now looking for foster carers to support them and their four-legged residents.
The team said: "At The Mutts Nutts Rescue we have a wonderful team of dedicated fosterers who continually help us out caring for dogs (and cats!) on either a short, medium or long term basis. This can be whilst an owner is temporarily unable to care for their companion due to illness or hospitalisation or if we have an animal that needs to find a new forever home.
"Our foster team are invaluable in the care they give and also in assessing and providing information on the dog or cat in order to help us to find the perfect match for their future new home. In fact some may even find the dog or cat never leaves...classic foster fail, which is fine by us, either way we appreciate them dearly for the love they show and their capacity to help.
"We are currently keeping our team very busy and are therefore in desperate need for new fosterers to help provide this care. We never want to turn away a dog or cat if we are asked to help an older or poorly person (or their families) when they need us most - we fear that without expanding our foster team urgently we may soon be faced with that scenario! This is not what we are about at all and it is not a position we want to be in! We really do need your help!
"If you think you would like to find out more or think you maybe able to offer your services to foster a dog or a cat in need, please email [email protected] in the first instance and provide a contact number and one of our team will get back to you to discuss further.
"Please get in touch if you can! We (and the animals in our care) appreciate any help you can give!"
