Local duo launch podcast on Rutland pubs - and a Ketton venue has been included
Oakham residents Tim Ives and Justin Perry have launched a new podcast called Pub Natter, and a pub from Ketton has already featured in the new series.
The new venture promotes the pubs and people of Rutland, and each episode is recorded in a different pub in Rutland.
Each podcast will see the duo spend fifteen minutes chatting with the landlord, discussing their backstory, the history of the pub and its offerings. They will then welcome a special guest, who has a specialised area of expertise.
Pub Natter is available on YouTube, Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and PodBean. The first two episodes are now available, and the team have so far covered:
- The Railway Inn, Ketton and Rutland CAMRA
- Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club, Part One
Never listen to podcasts?
Other than learning more about the pubs of Rutland, podcasts in general are good for mental health, offering a mental break to rest and recuperate, reducing stress and make users feel less alone. They are also really available for free.
The team said: "Now is the time to start listening to podcasts. You have plenty to choose from. Google reckons about 4.2 million. Obviously, you need to include Pub Natter in your 'must listens'. You can subscribe to the podcast (free) to ensure you don't miss an episode. Podcasts offer you an easy listen where you can be the 'other person' in the conversation, without having to expend any energy, so they offer a good portable form of entertainment, especially if you choose one where you have an obvious interest, like Rutland pubs for example."
