Alicia Kearns MP has demonstrated the height of the proposed Mallard Pass solar panels in a series of photographs taken at recognisable locations across Rutland and Stamford.
The local MP has campaigned against the 2,175 acre solar farm, set to be located in Rutland and Stamford, since plans were announced last year.
She has, this week, renewed her campaign with a range of pictures detailing the scale of the individual panels in the local area. The solar panels for the proposed Mallard Pass Solar Plant will be 3.3 metres high, with the farm itself being the size of approximately 1,400 football pitches.
Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Melton, said: "There have been efforts to disguise the sheer scale of the proposed solar panels for Mallard Pass, which I am seeking to correct so communities are fully availed of the realities of the Mallard Pass Solar Plant.
"This is the reality of the height of the panels, the same panels the companies applying to build them say wouldn't prevent us enjoying the 'permissive footpaths' they may include.
"As we approach the stage where the Secretary of State for Energy will decide whether to approve the application, I need your help now more than ever to represent our collective and justified opposition to this heinous development.
"I am asking everyone opposed to Mallard Pass to write me a letter explaining why, and to ask anyone who agrees with your opposition to sign my Parliamentary Petition, which I will personally deliver to the Secretary of State for Energy. We all want to play our part in Net Zero, but going green on red blood labour is wrong."
Alicia is running two initiatives to ensure the strength of opposition in affected communities is heard.
Firstly, Alicia has launched a letter campaign, calling for those opposed to the proposed development to send a letter explaining why, which Alicia will then present to the Secretary of State for Energy.
Letters can be posted to:

Secondly, Alicia's Parliamentary Petition against Mallard Pass can be signed by any resident in the UK over 6 years old, and will be presented to the House of Commons. Sheets can be posted directly to anyone in the country by emailing: [email protected]
The deadline for both is January 14 2024.
