The Rutland and Melton MP has called for more to sign her petition against Mallard Pass Solar Farm, proposed for the Rutland-Stamford border.
Alicia Kearns MP's Parliamentary petition against the proposed Mallard Pass solar plant has already been signed by over 3,000 concerned individuals.
In a final push for signatures, Alicia Kearns MP has asked everyone concerned with the proposed over-2,000-acre Mallard Pass solar plant to:
- Collect five signatures from family and friends
- Post Alicia a letter setting out why you oppose Mallard Pass which she will deliver to the Secretary of State for Energy Sand Net Zero
The petition will be presented to the House of Commons, before the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero makes the final decision on whether to approve or reject the solar plant.
Alicia Kearns, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Melton, said: "I need your help on the final push to ensure the strength of opposition in our affected communities is heard. The more signatures we have on my petition, the greater my argument will be to impress upon the Government why this wholly unacceptable development must not be allowed to go ahead.
"If we are serious about food security, we must protect our BMV land from excessive solar development, while also taking a stand against all forms of slave labour. We all want to play our part in Net Zero, but going green on red blood labour is wrong."
The petition can be signed by any resident in the UK. Sheets can be posted directly to anyone in the country by emailing: [email protected].
Letters are to be posted to:

House of Commons

The deadline for both initiatives is 14 January 2024.
