New Burghley House play area nears completion
A new play area at Stamford's Burghley House is nearly ready.
The new attraction, which is set to open on 29 April, is currently being finished up by the team across Burghley Estate ready for the grand opening next weekend.
The team shared on their social media: "Many teams across the Burghley Estate lent an extra pair of hands to our friends in Gardens and Forestry to help spread mulch and bark-wood chippings in and around the play structure, play zones and newly designed landscape today.
"Everyone was more than happy to get stuck in and apply the finishing touches to Hide & Secrets. Now we just can’t wait for our brand new adventure play area to open!"
Hide & Secrets will remember William Cecil, the 1st Baron of Burghley.
William Cecil was an English statesman, the chief adviser of Queen Elizabeth I for most of her reign, twice Secretary of State and Lord High Treasurer from 1572
The team at Burghley have worked closely with world-class playground designers, CAP.Co Adventure Play, to create a wonderfully imaginative design, packed with playability which is sure to delight and excite children of all ages, while paying ode to this remarkable historic figure.
The play area will be situated in an area of the garden adjacent to the Sculpture Garden that up until now has been closed to the public.
The attraction will be open from Saturday 29 April.
