The Exeter Arms, based in Easton on the Hill, will soon be home to a new Mediterranean and fine dining restaurant - with a local twist.

Goretti Lobato will be opening the new restaurant, called El Camino at The Exeter Arms, next month.

Having worked in the restaurant and hospitality trade since the age of 15, Ms Lobato's passion for restaurant work was first kindled in her home town in South Africa.

Since then she has taken on a range of roles, including investment banking, but has always come back to the hospitality industry.

She said: "I love the restaurant trade. It is about so much more than a job, it is a passion. Restaurants aren't just places to go and eat, but to make life-long friends and develop community spaces. I love what I do and am excited for this new venture."

Now, Ms Lobato is opening her own Mediterranean restaurant in Exton on the Hill, and it will be called El Camino.

El Camino translates to 'the way' while Easton on the Hill means 'east farm or settlement'.

As such, El Camino in Easton on the Hill will loosely translate to 'the way of the farm' and will be a nod to the rural roots of the historic restaurant and village location.

Although it is yet to be finalised, the restaurant will brag a Mediterranean menu and fine dining options, as well as welcoming drinkers to the bar five days per week.

Currently, the venue is set to be open Wednesday – Sunday for lunch and dinner. Lunch will be available from 12pm – 3pm, and dinner from 5:30pm, with the venue staying open until late. The team also plan on continuing the classic Sunday lunch menu that the venue became so popular for under previous owners.

Ms Lobato added: "The venue also has five rooms, which we are excited to rent out on a B and B basis. This is something that we will be working on down the line."

Ms Lobato will soon be looking for front of house staff, including waiting and bar staff.

To enquire, call 07739 710 482, where you can also book a table. Opening night is already looking busy, so book now to avoid disappointment.
