A lucky ticket holder is enjoying a Happy New Year thanks to a £250 win in the council's community lottery.

LotterySK is a local initiative that helps to raise money for good causes in South Kesteven. All good causes supported by the lottery will benefit South Kesteven and its residents.

Money from each ticket sold goes to support South Kesteven, and there's a chance to win the £25,000 jackpot every week.

This New Year, one lucky winner has taken home £250.

This is the second £250 LotterySK win in recent weeks, following another just before Christmas.

The winner is a supporter of The Thorold Arms Community Benefit Society, one of 120 good causes benefitting from the South Kesteven District Council-run lottery.

The society has so far received more than £7,000 as its percentage of tickets bought by supporters. It operates as a social enterprise raising money to support the community-owned pub and community hub, including Post Office, shop and guest bedrooms.

Ticket holders have the chance of a £25,000 top prize in the LotterySK weekly draw. Nominated good causes receive 50p for every £1 ticket sold - more than twice the amount raised by the National Lottery.

Another 10p from each ticket sale goes to the SK Community Fund, meaning that 60 per cent of each £1 ticket goes to support good causes in South Kesteven. Every ticket has a one in 50 chance of winning.

As an added incentive, a 'superdraw' on Saturday February 25th offers the chance to win an amazing additional prize: a year's supply of HelloFresh grocery boxes. They deliver fresh high-quality ingredients direct to your door - with everything required to create delicious dinners from scratch.

You can buy tickets, or register as a good cause online, where there is also information and advice for groups wanting help on how to encourage ticket sales.
