On Monday 28 August, Stamford's annual Diversity Festival will be returning in a vibrant celebration of world music, food, and culture.

The Diversity Festival is supported by Stamford Town Council and the South Kesteven Community Fund, and hosted by Stamford Diversity Group CIC, a community-led group whose ambition is to make Stamford and the surrounding areas an inclusive and welcoming place.

This will be the third iteration of the now-annual festival, which began in 2021.

The 2021 event was organised by Yvette Diaz-Munoz with the support of Stamford Anti-Racism Group, MindSpace Stamford, Amnesty International, Churches Together and Team Stamford.

It has since jumped from strength to strength, and last year welcomed music, food, street art and dance from around the world, including Thailand, India and Jamaica - and other exotic countries and regions.

Yvette Diaz-Munoz said: "We have a super line up this year. As well as tried and tested favourites Latino Sound, King Don Steel Drums and Muha (whose main vocalist is Ukrainian) we have some new acts such as FYI Reggae (the 4 piece section of Zeb Rootz), Taoreta and Gabriella Pineda Rodrigues who is offically kicking off the festival with a super Hip-Hopera song* with local rapper Xidus Pain.

"As you can see on the line up King Don will kick off the fest with a chilled steel drums set followed by a quick song or two from Grease by Stamford Showstoppers. Then the mayor will officially open the festival at midday and Gabriella & Xidus will perform the official opening 'hip hopera' song* Numero Uno before Gabriella completes the set.

"The poet laureates follow with a set by Muha and then a fantastically exciting set by Taoreta. And much more..."

This year's festival will take place from 11am until 6pm at Stamford Recreation Ground, and welcome a range of acts, artists and suppliers from the local area and further afield.
