The Burley House Preservation Trust are submitting a planning application to South Kesteven District Council with the hopes of them approving a huge new plan for the area, including homes, schools, and shops.

The plan is being submitted today, Friday 16 December 2022, and promises 1,300 proposed homes as well as a host of infrastructure to support the incoming population.

This development, the 'Stamford North' development, would be located to the west of Little Casterton Road and east of Ryhall Road.

This master plan, as it has been dubbed, will be open for public comment.

The large development would also provide a new primary school, including two classes for each year, as well as a central hub, comprising of a range of facilities including a local convenience store.

If accepted, the development will be located in approximately 70 acres of what is now green space.

20 acres would remain as park land and useable for recreation.

There are a host of details that remain unconfirmed, from medical provisions to how the homes will be powered, heated, and maintained (leasehold or freehold).

Discussions continue about the necessity of including a new medical practice in the build.
