TV garden personality Adam Frost has joined with Stamford wellbeing charity MindSpace to stage an exciting event to kick off the spring season.
Keen gardeners and fans of the TV show Gardeners' World are invited to a very special evening with locally-based Adam Frost on Thursday 21 March at Rutland Nursery. All funds raised from the ticket sales will go directly towards supporting MindSpace's vital work.
Adam is an award-winning British garden designer, television presenter and motivational speaker. Having achieved huge success at RHS Chelsea Flower Show over the years (having designed seven Gold-medal winning gardens), he is passionate about inspiring both adults and children to create and enjoy their gardens.
As well as presenting on BBC Two's Gardeners' World, Adam is one of the presenters on the BBC's coverage of RHS Flower Shows, as well as appearing on The One Show and DIY SOS.
A keen believer of the value of gardening and being in the outdoors for physical and mental wellbeing, Adam is supporting MindSpace for this exclusive evening in which he will be in conversation with Chris Young, a MindSpace Trustee, gardens consultant and former editor of RHS The Garden magazine.
Chris says: "We are so excited that Adam is supporting MindSpace with this event. We'll be talking all things gardening, from his favourite plants to what it's like to be a TV presenter, as well as encouraging questions from the floor on any gardening topic! It is set to be an intimate and very special occasion."
Adam says: "I'm so happy to be supporting this really important local charity. It does a huge amount for the community of Stamford and beyond, and I know just how importance mental health is. For me, my family and gardening have been a life saver over some challenging times. I'm really looking forward to this evening – and hopefully raising plenty of money for the charity."
MindSpace firmly believes in the connection between people and nature. As Chris explains: "Being outside, gardening, growing plants, enjoying the seasons and being part of a group can all be hugely beneficial for combating isolation, loneliness or depression. Clinical research proves that for many people suffering from anxiety or mental health issues, being outside and part of nature really does help. As part of our community-based work, our Stamford Wellbeing Garden gives people access to a safe, beautiful and important outside space."
Tickets for 'An Evening with Adam Frost' cost just £40 each and includes a glass or two of crémant (or a non-alcoholic alternative drink) and a selection of delicious canapés created in the restaurant at Rutland Nursery, on the south bank of Rutland Water at Manton.
Doors open at 7pm, with a welcome from Beka Avery, Chair of the Trustees for MindSpace. Guests will have the chance to chat with Adam following the presentation.
Adam has even agreed to answer gardening questions on the night, so those buying tickets have the opportunity to pose a plant, border, lawn or other query in advance.
With demand likely to be high, MindSpace is urging the early purchase of tickets via the website.
