Stamford Rugby fight to stay in league top 5

Stamford Rugby Club have fought hard to remain in the top 5 of the Counties 1 East Midlands (South) 2022/23 league.

Following a hard defeat at the hands of Vipers Football Rugby Club on Saturday 28 January, Stamford have found themselves in 5th place in the league,

Still, the team remains 4 spots above their neighbours and long-term rivals, Oakham Rugby Football Club.

The pre-Christmas match between Oakham and Stamford was cancelled due to cold temperatures and frozen pitches.

The game has been rescheduled for Saturday 25 February, and should prove to be an exciting match, with Stamford as favourites to win on home turf.

On Saturday 4 February, Stamford are playing Northampton Casuals away. Northampton are currently sitting 10th in the league, which comprises of 12 teams.
