A shop in Stamford's Northfields has donated a whopping 168 bottles of Orangina to a local food charity.

Nisa, Stamford Northfields, has donated the bulk packs of Orangina to George's Food Hub, a local charity supporting local people and preventing food waste.

In January 2022, a local charity worker, George, moved on from the highly successful Second-Helpings, Stamford needing to work in a new direction.

Founded by George 9 years ago, the project had fed in the region of 75,000 people, collected and distributed 235,000kg of food, and saved 200kg of co2 each year.

Now, he has set up George's Food Hub.

The team work with members of the local community to collect and distribute excess food from local business and shops to support those in need in the local area and reduce food waste.

George's Food Hub delivers food to three Peterborough projects which are working to feed in the region of 700 people in need each week, including many who are homeless. Food is collected from four suppliers in the area, who donate a wide range of food items enabling folk to obtain good wholesome food.

The team explained: "We want to give a massive thanks and shout out to Nisa Local, Stamford Northfields, for their generous donation of 168 bottles of Orangina directly from Orangina!

"We're so grateful for everything Nisa does for us, they go above and beyond for their local community."
