Stamford's Lakeside surgery has suspended its online services on the Doctrine platform.

Doctrin is a provider of digiphysical healthcare solutions that enable "improved efficiency, medical quality and more satisfied health care staff and patients."

It is a secure online consultation platform for non-urgent cases. Stamford's Lakeside team aim to respond to patients within three days of them submitting a Doctrine enquiry for medical enquiries and five days for administrative issues.

However, the service has been suspended by the team due to capacity issues.

The team shared on social media: "Unfortunately, due to capacity issues, we are having to close the Doctrin platform temporarily with immediate effect.

"If you have already submitted a case then it is on our system and will be dealt with as soon as possible.

"Sorry for any inconvenience that this temporary measure may cause. If you need to contact us in the meantime, please telephone the surgery during normal working hours, dial 111 for non-urgent cases or 999 for emergencies.

"Thank you for your understanding."
