Stamford venues nominated in tourism awards

A local venue has been nominated in the Destination Lincolnshire Tourism Awards.

The awards celebrate the best of tourism across Greater Lincolnshire and recognise a range of venues, from pubs and restaurants to visitor attraction, accommodation providers, unsung heroes and arts, culture and heritage.

This final category is where Stamford Arts Centre have been nominated.

Other local venues nominated include The William Cecil, as Hotel of the Year.

Dating back to the 18th Century, Stamford Arts Centre is a thriving multi-arts venue that provides the opportunity to experience and participate in a wide selection of art forms from theatre, cinema, music and poetry to sculpture, dance, painting and drawing.

The venue brags a gallery, ballroom, theatre and cinema space, as well as hosting regular work shops, local theatre and artis from the local area and across the country.

The team shared on social media: "We're thrilled to announce that we've been shortlisted for the prestigious Destination Lincolnshire Tourism Awards 2023!

"These awards shine a spotlight on outstanding innovation, commitment, and leadership within the tourism industry over the past year.

"We're incredibly proud to have made it to the finals in the Arts, Culture, and Heritage category, standing tall among esteemed names like Heckington Windmill, International Bomber Command Centre, Normanby Hall Country Park, and North Lincolnshire Museum. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of all the finalists.

"As we eagerly await the next phase of this exciting journey, we're sending our best wishes to all the participants who are making tourism shine brighter than ever!
