Stamford youth climbing on the rooftops of Stamford buildings are causing concern for the local policing teams and Stamford residents.

Officers from Lincolnshire Police have said that local teens have been accessing rooftops via the back of shops and homes along Stamford High Street, rising injury to themselves and others.

Not only is this a dangerous stunt, but it is classed as trespass, according to the Police, and could result in criminal proceedings.

Sergeant Emma Crisp and the Stamford, Bourne and Deeping neighbourhood team have encouraged members of the public to report any anti-social behaviour as it is happening.

This can be done by calling 101, but if a serious criminal act is taking place, residents should always call 999.

Crimes reported online are not dealt with as swiftly, so resident should report via the phone lines. However, you can follow the local policing team on Facebook for other help, advice and updates.

This comes as, this week, the team mark Anti-Social Behaviour Week, which runs from 3 - 9 July 2023.

Antisocial behaviour is defined as 'behaviour by a person which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household as the person', according to the Antisocial Behaviour Act 2003 and Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011, and can cause both physical and emotional harm to victims.
