Burghley Horse Trials

The Defender Burghley Horse Trials begin today, Thursday 31 August 2023, at Stamford's Burghley House. 

The trials originally began in 1961, and have had a long and successful history on the world stage ever since, attracting famous faces from the equine world year after year.

Enjoy a spectacular weekend of racing and soak up the atmosphere at Burghley House from today, Thursday 31 August, until Sunday, when the show comes to a close.

Community Open Mic Night

On Thursday 31 August, Stamford Arts Centre will be hosting their monthly open mic night.

Enjoy another great line up including stand up comedy from Alex Funny, vocalist Jae, Amber and Rhianna, Triggers Broom, The CEO's with more young bands and singers, Blues, Rock, Folk making this a fantastic evening of free entertainment.

Saving Private Ryan

On Friday 1 September, Stamford Arts Centre will be hosting a screening of Saving Private Ryan.

Following the Normandy landings Captain Miller (Tom Hanks) takes his men behind enemy lines to find Private James Ryan, whose three brothers have been killed in combat. Surrounded by the brutal realties of war each man embarks upon a personal journey and discovers their own strength to triumph over an uncertain future with honour, decency and courage. 25 years after Spielberg's extraordinarily realistic war film here's a chance to see it again on the big screen where it was meant to be.

Join Stamford Sights and Secrets Tours on Saturday 2 September for a 90-minute guided walking tour around the beautiful, unspoilt town of Stamford. See the sights, discover the secrets and meet the faces behind the Georgian façade.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION – Visit some of the stunning Stamford locations used in novels, films and TV series and discover what happened at each venue.
