The public will have their say on proposals to rehome the world famous Red Arrows to RAF Wittering, near Stamford, next week.
A special drop-in open meeting is being held at Wittering Community Learning Centre on Thursday, April 11, to discuss and feed back on the proposed Airspace Change Proposal Design Principles for the relocation of the RAF Aerobatic Team - the official name of the Red Arrows.
All nine Red Arrows display pilots are fast jet pilots from front line Royal Air Force squadrons.
RAF Wittering is one of three potential new homes for the Red Arrows air display team, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has said, including RAF Leeming in North Yorkshire and RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire.
The Red Arrows have been housed at RAF Scampton since 2000. However, the government announced that base will close in 2022 and that the Red Arrows will relocate to a site "more fit for purpose".
The open meeting about the Red Arrows on Thursday 11th April 2019 will take place between 3:30pm and 6:45pm at:
Wittering Community Learning Centre, 14/16 St Georges Road, Wittering, Cambridgeshire, PE8 6DL.
