There is a growing drive to encourage people into Stamford and to support its shops and businesses.

So when I was setting up our holiday home property The Keys, in Stamford, it was really important to me that I champion this and showcase local businesses.

The Keys is entirely furnished by Anvils, who were fabulous at fitting and setting up the property, and I collaborated with Katie Cardew to purchase art works, wall paper and light fittings. Our guests love these local touches.

I update our notice board weekly with events happening in the town and local area, and also advertise these on my Facebook page and instagram - adding upcoming productions and events at Stamford Arts Centre, Burghley House, Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre, and Stamford Shakespeare Company at Tolethorpe.

Plus we always have Stamford Living, House Proud, Active and other local publications available for our guests to peruse and get a feel for the area.

I recently collaborated with The Stamford Mummy to offer information on her website to support families living and staying in the Stamford area.

I am always happy to chat with any other local businesses who would like to collaborate or publicise.

Products from our wonderful food companies are also available for guests to enjoy - or take home. Two Chimps Coffee supplies ground coffee from the Oakham roastery - we have had great feedback about their fabulous coffee - and chutney maker The Bytham Kitchen provides locally-made marmalade.

Our welcome pack is building to showcase local companies and businesses for guests to read and choose places to visit. As a pet-friendly property, it’s great that Stamford has so many cafes, restaurants and shops which welcome our four-legged friends.

The Keys is popular with dog-owning guests thanks to the large garden and I put together a dog welcome box of locally-bought products to make them feel at home.

I also support the #ShopStamford movement with stickers in the property and will be leaving a couple of shopping bags for guest.

The Keys can be booked for holidays as well as business trips and short term renting, such as in between moving house.

Free WIFI, smart TV plus a sound bar helps our guests stay connected and there are hotel grade linens and towels, with housekeeping for each visit, and a large kitchen and living area to relax in. The property has a main bedroom, a single bedroom and a bed settee in the living area. There's also a brand new bathroom with a bath and a shower.

Stamford is a fabulous area to live and visit and I love being able to share this with my guests.
