Grantham is getting a Big Clean and soon it will be Stamford's turn.
The work is part of South Kesteven District Council's continuing programme to improve the local surroundings.
After tackling a part of Grantham, the next few weeks will see the two Big Clean teams tackle more areas of Grantham, plus Stamford, Bourne and Market Deeping before heading out on their village schedule from September onwards.
The teams are due to start in Stamford next Monday, where they will be sprucing up the town for about a fortnight, before moving on to Bourne and Market Deeping.
Details of the schedule can be found at http://www.southkesteven.gov.uk/bigclean
The most recent work made a huge difference to the streets, pathways, green areas and paved courts in the busy residential area of Grantham.
Cabinet Member for Housing and Planning, Cllr Robert Reid, said: "We join with residents and SKDC tenants in taking a pride in our surroundings to make the area a better and more attractive environment.
“This work is in addition to our basic street cleaning programme and we’re pleased to be able to make our market towns and their surrounding villages a better place in which to live, work and invest. It’s also about building strong local communities where everyone feels welcome and valued.
“Residents can still highlight any problem areas via a form on our website so that the team can get along to tackle them.”
