Residents and staff at Tallington Lodge Care Home are celebrating after receiving their latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) report rating them ‘Good’ in all areas.

The rating for the care home, which provides long-term residential and respite care for up to 60 residents, followed a recent unannounced inspection.

The home has recently been extended and completely refurbished with dementia-friendly features in order to support people’s wellbeing.

Commenting on this one resident told inspectors: “It’s more like home than a home, if you know what I mean.”

The report noted that the culture of the service was caring and focused on ensuring people received person-centred care that met their needs in a timely way.

Alykhan Kachra, Managing Director of Country Court Care, said: “Our team at Tallington Lodge put our residents' health and wellbeing at the heart of everything they do every day, we are delighted that this is reflected in the report findings."

Home Manager Manju Panankavil was very pleased that the report highlighted the home’s clear vision, putting people at the centre of the service.

“We have a lovely homely atmosphere here at Tallington Lodge, staff go above and beyond everyday to ensure people feel well cared for retain their independence,” she added.

Residents told inspectors were happy living at Tallington Lodge and many commented on the quality of the food.
