Former Thin Lizzy manager opens Stamford record shop
Rock On Records welcomed their first customers yesterday, Thursday 16 March.
Rock On Records is a new Stamford-based record shop run by Ted Carroll, who was a co-manager of the Irish rock band Thin Lizzy.
On Thursday 16 March, Ted stepped into the next phase of his rock n roll journey, reopening the once famous Rock On Records shop, previously based in London's music hub, Camden.
In Thin Lizzy's 'The Rocker' single from 1973, Phil Lynott sang:
"Rock'n'Roll
I get my records at the Rock On stall,
Rock'n'Roll
Teddy boy he's got them all"
Well, 'Teddy boy' is now in situ at his Stamford store and is excited to meet new customers in his Stamford record shop, Rock On Records, 4 All Saints' Street, Stamford, PE9 2PA.
This comes as Stamford Record Fair returns to the historic market town this weekend, Saturday 18 March.
Stamford Record Fair is the place to browse for that rare, elusive album you've been looking for, to chat to like-minded people about music and more, and stay for a free coffee or tea and look at all the great records on offer from a range of friendly traders.
When you're done, head down to Ted Carroll 's new Rock On record shop at 4 All Saints' Street to flick through masses of singles and LPs on his first weekend of opening.
It all adds up to a great vinyl weekend for all lovers of records and music!
The shop will be open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 6pm, with all profits going to charity. Ted will be in the shop one day a week.
