The Holiday Activity and Food Programme is bringing free football days to kids in and around Stamford this Easter.
HAF, the 'Holiday Activities and Food Programme', is a Government funded programme that provides free holiday clubs for reception to year 11 pupils in receipt of benefits-related free school meals in Lincolnshire over the summer, Christmas and Easter holidays - which this year will run from Saturday 1 April 2023 to Monday 17 April 2023.
School holidays can be particular pressure points for some families because of increased costs (such as food and childcare) and reduced incomes. For some children that can lead to a holiday experience gap, with children from disadvantaged families more likely to experience social isolation and 'unhealthy holidays', as well as being less likely to engage in out of school activities.
HAF are here to help though, with football sessions on offer throughout the holidays with a local group, One Touch Football.
Spaces are available for HAF Football in Bourne and Stamford.
The days will run from 9am until 3pm and include:
- Fun Football for everyone
- Free Meal and snack
- Food Education
- Arts and Crafts
- T-shirt printing on selected days
- Football Inflatable on selected days
To be eligible for HAF, children must be between the age of 4 and 16 and be in receipt of benefits-funded school meals, although there are paid spaces available on these day sessions too.
Online booking is open for those who are eligible.
Those looking to book and enquire can also email [email protected].
