What's on in Stamford this weekend: a fun fair, live comedy, and family cinema

Stamford Mid-Lent Fair

On Thursday 23, Friday 24, and Saturday 25 March, Stamford Mid-Lent Fair will be continuing in the centre of Stamford Market Town.

Held in mid-Lent, the fair is now the largest street fair in Lincolnshire and among the largest in the country. Although it now centres around many modern enjoyments, such as fairground rides, games, street food, and sweets, the fair dates back to 942AD.

The fair will be open on Thursday and Friday evenings, and throughout the day on Saturday, and will take place in the centre of Stamford, Lower Recreation Ground and Bath Row.

Entry is free.

Rides cost between £3 and £6.

Food and drinks are available at stalls and well-established local restaurants, cafes and pubs.

Following a stint in Stamford, the fair will head on to Grantham from 26 - 30 March.

Hats Funny Comedy

Hats funny comedy returns to South Luffenham village hall with another exciting night of laughter. 

5 fantastic comedians from around the country will entertain you with a variety of different styles which is sure to provide something for everyone.

Tickets are available at £8 if purchased before 15th February, £10 up until 24th March and there are limited tickets on the door for £12.

Community Cinema

On Saturday 25 March, Stamford Arts Centre are hosting a screening of Puss-in-Boots: The Last Wish.

The long-awaited sequel to 2011's Puss In Boots, sees the fearless feline hero set off an a quest to restore his full nine lives after losing eight of them being the kind of adventure-loving cat who takes too many risks. A fun film for all the family with thrills, spills, and lots to laugh at. Purrrrr-fect.

Tickets cost £5 - £7 and can be bought online.
