There are a huge range of events going on in Stamford this half-term, as well as events to keep the whole family entertained across the Bank Holiday weekend.

Beastly Boring Tours

Burghley House's Beastly Boring Tours begin on Saturday 27 May. 

The Burghley Tudors bring history to life in a fun, captivating tour for little ones.

Hear about Burghley House's huge staterooms, special objects and paintings and the remarkable people who have lived, visited and worked here through Burghley's 500 year history.

Tours start at 9.30am on selected dates between 27 May - 3 June.

Rutland Water Cycle Ride

As a part of the Rutland Walking and Cycling Festival, the Cyclists of Stamford Club Ride are hosting a free ride around Rutland Water on Sunday 28 May.

Take part in a dedicated 18-mile bike ride around Rutland with a half way coffee stop in Uppingham along the way.

This will start and finish at Rutland Water, Normanton Car Park. Bring your own bike or hire one with Specialized. Tandem rides are available for visually impaired riders and opportunities to join other group rides.

The ride will take place on Sunday 28 May from 9am, from Rutland Water Normanton Car Park, Edith Weston, LE15 8HD.

Burghley Game and Country Fair

Burghley Game and Country Fair returns on Sunday 28 and Monday 29 May for the last bank holiday weekend of the month.

There will be:

  • live entertainment
  • 'have a go' country sports and pursuits 
  • falconry and fishing 
  • shooting village
  • dog competition 
  • craft marquees and demos
  • food halls, stalls and street food
  • jazz and folk music

Half-term at Stamford Arts Centre

The team at Stamford Arts Centre is hosting a range of activities to keep the kids entertained this half-term.

Half-term is set to take place from Monday 29 May until Friday 2 June, and there is plenty going on at the Stamford Arts Centre to keep the kids entertained during the break.

Wildcats one-day workshops will be going ahead on:

Tuesday 30 May - Minion Madness

Wed 31 May - Pop Star Party

Thur 1 June - Festival Fun

Fri 2 June - Mermaid Madness

All of these workshops require a packed lunch and drinks. Please wear comfy clothing.

Workshops run from 9:30am – 4:00pm each day, with drop off available from 8:30am. For more detailed information go to the Wildcats website.

 Stamford Stitchers Exhibition

The Stamford Stitchers exhibition is taking place from 20 May to 14 June at Rutland County Museum, Oakham, LE15 6HW.

Learn about, browse and buy embroidery, textiles and mixed media - if you thought you knew stitching, think again! 

Admission will be free, with some items for sale throughout. 

The museum is open:

Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10am – 4pm (Last Entry: 3.45pm)

Closed on Bank Holidays.

Car Boot Sale

On Monday 28 May, Rutland Showground will play host to the postponed Coronation Car Boot Sale.

'Clear out to help out' is the theme and residents are encouraged to clear out their homes, garages and lofts to sell goods for charity. 

Funds raised will go to Rutland Foodbank, Rutland Citizens Advice, and For Rutland. 

There will be food and drink, a funfair, games, stalls and more. 

This will take place from 10am until 4pm.
