MindSpace Stamford has launched a family-friendly fundraiser with the help of local creatives, including Stamford's former poet laureate.

The team asked: "How well do you know your way around Stamford?

"Here's your chance to find out… and enter a prize draw to win an annual family pass for Burghley House's Hide & Secrets Adventure Play, or afternoon tea for two at Rutland Hall Hotel!"

Local charity MindSpace Stamford have launched a one day only 'Stamford Treasures Trail' fundraiser challenge event, taking place on Saturday 15 July.

The event will raise funds to support wellbeing and positive mental health in Stamford and give local people the chance to test their knowledge of what's around. Whether you are up for a bit of a challenge, or you fancy a fun afternoon with the family, this is just what you need to kick off the summer activities.

Former poet laureate Scott Coe has composed the clues to the trail which will lead participants on an exploration of Stamford and its historical and interesting locations and attractions. In addition, well-known local artist Karen Neale is contributing a sketched map of the area covered by the trail.

The Stamford Treasures Trail will take place between 1pm and 5pm and people will be able to choose a longer route with more destinations or a shorter town-centre based quiz, more accessible and suited to families with younger children. The challenge begins at the MindSpace hub on Broad Street and you can arrive any time between 1pm and 3pm to set off.

For £5 per person (children under 12 go free), participants will receive a trail programme with quiz questions and map. Those who sign up before the day will receive a voucher for a free ice cream.

All entries returned to MindSpace by 5pm will be entered into a prize draw to win either an annual family pass to Burghley House's Hide & Secrets Adventure Play (including admittance to the Sculpture Garden and Garden of Surprises), or afternoon tea for two at Rutland Hall Hotel.

There is also a chance for people to buy raffle tickets on the day to win some great prizes, including a month of gym membership and a hamper of goodies from Boots.

Pip Tiffin, MindSpace People & Operations Lead, says she hopes the Stamford Treasures Trail will be a big success and enable families, couples and solo individuals to enjoy a couple of hours exploring what Stamford has to offer, whilst at the same time raising money to support wellbeing in the town.

"We know how much the people of Stamford like to support its causes, and we felt this would be a great way for everyone to get involved in helping us, and at the same time have a chance to appreciate our beautiful and historical town in a really fun way."

Recent Poet Laureate of Stamford, Scott Coe says that he jumped at the opportunity to support MindSpace by creating the clues for the quiz trail. "One of my most rewarding volunteer projects at the moment is the monthly 'Playing with Words' sessions that I run at MindSpace. When the charity came up with the idea of a quiz trail with clues in poem form as a fundraiser, I thought it sounded like a really fun idea with lots of scope. I hope people enjoy deciphering the clues as much as I enjoyed coming up with them."

MindSpace's Stamford Treasures Trail will take place on Saturday 15th July between 1pm and 5pm. Trail programmes can be bought for £5 per person (no charge for children) from MindSpace premises at 39 Broad Street, Stamford PE9 1PX during these times.
