The team at Stamford Fire Station have bid a fond farewell to a much-loved colleague after 20 years of service.
Last night, Monday 26 June, the crew from Stamford said farewell to Firefighter Stevie Bland.
Stevie had served alongside his colleagues and friends at the local station since his move from Yorkshire, and after enjoying a rewarding career as a flight simulator technician at RAF Wittering.
He joined the local Fire and Rescue Service 20 years ago and has been a dedicated member of the team since.
A spokesperson for the Stamford Fire team said: "Stevie has served his community as an On Call Firefighter for an amazing 20 years. Stevie, originally from Yorkshire, joined Stamford station after leaving the RAF from his final posting at RAF Wittering where he was a flight simulator technician.
"Whilst serving with the Stamford crew Steve became the lead for the Co Responder team where the crew respond to medical emergencies in car, then as part of the Joint Ambulance. Conveyance Project, in a Fire Service Ambulance (1 of only 3 in the county).
"Within his full time employment he initially worked in the Emergency Department at Peterborough Hospital before achieving his long term goal of joining East Midland Ambulance Service as an Ambulance Technician where he works today.
"Steve has committed himself to helping others for over 20 years and will be missed at the Station, from all crew, good luck mate, see you at the next shout."
Congratulations Stevie and thank you for your service.
