A Stamford-based Indian restaurant have won back their 5 star food hygiene rating after receiving a 2 star rating following an inspection in February.

The Bombay Cottage, dropped from a 'Very Good' rating in February and have since made dramatic changes to regain their 5 star rating.

Issues were raised surrounding the cleanliness and condition of the facilities.

Habib Rahman, owner of the Bombay Cottage, requested a re-inspection, which resulted in the 5 star rating being reinstated.

Mr Rahman said: "We're thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a 5-star food hygiene rating for Bombay Cottage.

"We take great pride in ensuring that all of our ingredients, recipes, and processes are of the highest standard. We are so pleased to be recognised for our hard work, and want to thank all of our amazing customers for their continued support!"

The restaurant has 4.5 stars out of 5 on Google Reviews and on Trip Advisor, with one recent review claiming that the team provided 'the best Indian meal' the customer had even had. Another added that 'Habib and the team never disappoint.'
