A stretcher made in Stamford to help those wounded in the current conflict raging in Ukraine has been successfully tested by members of a local sports team.
Stamford Rugby Union Football Club players 'stress tested' the stretcher ahead of the items being shipped out to the front line in Ukraine.
The stretchers are being made by number of these Ukrainian refugees, now housed in Stamford.
On 24 February 2022, Russia embarked upon a 'special military operation' in Ukraine, which has killed thousands and displaced millions.
This unrest has driven millions of Ukrainian people from their homes to seek refuge across Europe, with many Ukrainian families being housed in the UK.
Some of these refugees are bing housed in Stamford, but are still doing their bit to support the conflict.
The group of Ukrainians have made nine stretchers so far, but plan on making a total of 52.
To support the endeavour, Stamford RUFC are testing the items.
