A planning application has been submitted for charging points close to the A1, off Tinwell Road.

The Stamford site could be the home of 16 new high-power charging points that take only 35 minutes to charge a vehicle, on average.

The application has been submitted by Osprey Charing to South Kesteven District Council.

The London-based company have chosen this site as it would be quieter than a petrol station, allowing EV owners to wait in a nicer environment while their cars charge.

This comes just after Lincolnshire County Council announced that more than 100 electric vehicle chargers would be installed across the county. Some of these chargers will be located in Stamford. Read more here.

Eight of these are set to be rapid charging points.

Access to the Tinwell Road site would be from the A6121 Tinwell Road via the existing road down to South View Business Centre and Tinwell Pumping Station.
