South Kesteven District Council has upgraded its existing webcasting system to improve public accessibility to its meetings.
Meetings are currently accessed through YouTube, but will soon be streamed and stored on a bespoke site created for the Council by webcasting provider, Public-I.
The site allows members of the public to watch meetings live, as well as access recordings at a time that suits them.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Kelham Cooke, said: "It is vital that Council business is handled in an open, transparent and accessible way. Upgrading this technology not only improves the user experience, but also encourages the public to engage with local democracy."
Users can navigate to an item of interest within an agenda (via bookmarks) as well as subscribe to be notified by email about upcoming meetings.
After a successful test period, the first meeting to be streamed using the new software will be the Budget Joint Overview and Scrutiny Committee on Monday 9 January 2023 at 2pm.
