South Kesteven District Council warn of cold callers pretending to be from Council
The local Council have warned residents about cold callers on the run up to elections.
Cold calling is the solicitation of business from potential customers who have had no prior contact with the salesperson conducting the call. It is an attempt to convince potential customers to purchase either the salesperson's product or service.
South Kesteven District Council have warned their residents against conducting business with cold callers from the Council.
A spokesperson from South Kesteven District Council said: "Beware of cold callers claiming to be council staff. Never buy from them and check with us on 01476 406080 if you are suspicious.
"Any visitors from SKDC will always carry ID and will never request payment from residents."
