Stamford Fire Station car wash raises funds for charity
The team at Stamford Fire Station hosted their annual charity car wash over the weekend.
On Saturday 12 August 2023, Stamford Fire Station played host to a fundraising car ash to raise money for The Royal British Legion and The Fire Fighters Charity.
The station, located on 68 New Cross Road, saw 100s of visitors pop in for a scrub and polish - and, of course, to raise money for the national charities.
The Fire Fighters Charity offers specialist, lifelong support for members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to live happier and healthier lives.
Meanwhile, The Royal British Legion The Royal British Legion helps members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, both in service and after retirement, as well as their families.
The team at Stamford raised £900 through the car wash, which was boosted to £1,500 with other donations. The funds will be split between the two charities.
They said: "A big thanks to everyone that came to get their cars washed this weekend, over £900 raised and split between The Fire Fighters Charity and The Royal British Legion."
Stamford Fire Station is unique in that it is the only 2 appliance station in Lincolnshire that is manned solely by On-Call Firefighters. This means that the team are members of the local community with other jobs, and work together on a rotating schedule to man the Stamford branch of the Fire and Rescue Service.
Crew members take on the On-Call role out of love and dedication to the Stamford community, and once again showed their heart and dedication by donning the uniform and hosting their annual car wash.
Congratulations to the team!
