Stamford residents have been encouraged to 'Shop Stamford this Christmas, with local businesses still recovering from closures during the pandemic.

This comes as Stamford Heavenly Chocolates closes its Oakham branch and the recently opened M&Co reveal that the company has fallen into administration.

Even national and global brands, such as Costa Coffee and Colemans were forced to close their Stamford shops this year.

On top of these retail closures, a host of local bank branches have also announced closures set to take place in 2023. Read more about the banking closures here.

A such, Stamford shop and business owners are encouraging residents and visitors to the area to shop locally, whether that means popping into your local coffee shop for a brew, or picking up a few last-minute stocking fillers for the kids.

Why not visit some of the shops entered into our Best Dressed Shop Christmas Competition 2022? Or the newly opened Oliver Bonas?

Alternatively, let us know about your local shop, cafe or upcoming event by clicking the 'Nub it' button at the top of our News page or emailing [email protected] for a FREE shout out, article, or What's On feature.
