Yuletide Yarns

Meet at 3pm at Stamford Arts Centre on 17 December 2022 for a guided walk with tales of Stamford at Christmas.

Expect twinkly lights and traditions, followed by warming mulled wine or hot chocolate and mince pies.

Book here for £15.

Captain Calamity at Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre

On Saturday 17 December 2022 at 3pm enjoy Captain Calamity, a live family theatre show at Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre.

Captain Calamity's plans for Christmas in Chocolate Button Bay are disrupted with a call from the Chief Elf at the North Pole. There's just not enough seasonal good cheer, magic and merriment in the world and Santa's not sure the Reindeer will fly if he doesn't get enough by Christmas Eve. Cue Captain Calamity's signature magic and mayhem.

Expect a symphony of disaster conducted by a very smelly dragon, a mad scientist, a travelling musical storyteller and the biggest buffoon of all; Captain Calamity. Ideal for families and children of all ages.

Buy tickets here.

Live Music at The Danish Invader

Next up, head out of town to The Danish Invader on Saturday 17 December from 8:30pm until late for an evening of live music.

Join Lee Robertshaw for a range of acoustic versions of great songs by Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, U2, The Eagles, Bryan Adams, Snow Patrol, Oasis, Coldplay, James, REM, The Verve, Foo Fighters and more...

Stamford are number 4 in the league, while Oakham are at number 10 (image courtesy of Stamford Rugby).

POSTPONED UNTILL 2023: And don't forget, you can enjoy an afternoon of live rugby when rival teams, Oakham and Stamford, meet for the final match of the season at the Stamford ground on Hambleton Road.

Find out more about the game, which kicks off at 2:15pm, here.
