Stamford College Music and Performing Arts students are supporting Ukraine at their end of year fundraiser.

The college and students are hosting a Party in the Car Park to raise money to support Ukraine through the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).

Not only will this event raise funds to support the millions who have been impacted by the conflict in Ukraine, but will showcase local and Ukrainian talent.

A band formed at the college will be performing a song composed by Ukrainian Ruslan Kvinta, with lyrics by Scott Coe.

The band, Untitled, will perform a song composed at Stamford College's Party in the Car Park on Thursday 8 June.

The event will take place from 5 - 8pm and is open to prospective students.

The song was first sung by local performer, Ghost, to a backing track at the Ukrainian Festive Family Party that took place at Stamford College over the New Year. This will be the first time the song is performed publicly by a band and to a wider audience.

Untitled are a band that formed in Stamford College in September of 2022. The members include Rohan Pinnick who plays bass; Ellis Parish as the drummer; Francis Maltby as the lead guitarist; and Ghost White and Ella Fairbanks who are the vocalists. Their music is pop with influences from funk artists such as Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, Tyler the Creator and more.

They are currently busy working on their new EP, 'Midnight', which is composed of new, original material. This is due to be released by the end of May. Although they have just started out, they have been active in performing locally at the Voodoo Lounge, Mama Liz's, Stamford.

They will also be performing at the Stamford College 'Party in the Car Park' with a set of original songs and 'Would I Be Brave Enough' a song written to support Ukraine.

The event will also include stalls, creative arts exhibition, activities and performances from Stamford College performing arts students, the Ukrainian choir 'Sunflowers', as well as the current and former poet laureates Aiden Surrige, Scott Coe and Daniel Paice.
